Office Policies
The first step is calling me for an initial telephone consultation. The telephone consultation is always free of charge and allows me to learn more about what brings you to therapy at this particular time. We can also begin the process of determining whether I am the most suitable therapist to meet your therapeutic needs. The telephone consultation is brief and therefore I generally consider the first 2 – 4 in-person sessions a continuation of the assessment period. If we mutually agree that this working relationship is a good fit, I generally schedule 45-minute therapy sessions once or twice a week.
Fees and Insurance
My hourly rate is consistent with that of other clinical psychologists on the Peninsula. I also offer a sliding fee scale based on economic need as well as the availability of such time slots in my practice at any given time. Should you require this kind of assistance, please let me know.
Payment is due at each session. As scheduling an appointment involves reserving a time specifically for you, it is important to provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Otherwise, the full fee will be charged for missed sessions and due at the time of your next appointment.
With respect to health insurance, I do not participate in any managed care networks, but many PPO insurance plans offer coverage for the services of a licensed clinical psychologist. I provide monthly statements appropriate for claims submissions. Please first check with your insurance company to see whether reimbursement may be an option for you, as full payment of the fee to which we have agreed is ultimately your responsibility.
